Welcome to Cut Glass Search.co.uk - Specialists in traditional 20th century glassware

National Glass Fair April 2008

About Us

There are two of us, Tina King, the buyer and researcher, and Val Lloyd, who deals with the business administration and sales. We are based in Shropshire and are assisted by our husbands. See the 'Contact Us' page for our contact details.

We believe the quality of our service should equal the quality of the glass we sell. We endeavour to be knowledgeable and helpful, even if we are aware there will be no immediate sale. We have even delivered glasses to ensure they arrived in time for a dinner party. Personal contact is an important part of our business.

Stock is bought from auctions, antique fairs, antique centres and private vendors. This is essentially an environmentally friendly business, recycling items rather than manufacturing them; most of our packaging is also second-hand. We believe in using local facilities and expertise as much as possible, but we have to travel extensively to source stock.

We provide quality traditional cut glass in any quantity. If we do not hold it in stock then we look for it. Identification can be challenging. Some glasses have never had names and the manufacturers mark can be difficult to see. Shapes and sizes changed over the years and patterns were copied. The same pattern may appear on different shapes and therefore has a different name. We are happy to research patterns and manufacturers as this increases our own knowledge This service is free of charge. Further information about our service can be found at 'Useful Information'.
