Waterford

The original Waterford factory closed in 1851 and bears no relationship to the recent one which opened in 1949. In 1986 it was joined by Wedgwood. In 1995 the group purchased Stuart and closed it down in 2002, using Stuart in the meantime to make some of Waterford’s products. In 2006 Edinburgh was added to the list. The firm did not survive and the receivers were called in January 2009. What was left was bought and all Waterford is now made in continental Europe.
